Feasible? With the coming storm of diesels preparing to hit America, I'd love to see some monsterous sports diesel hitting 14,000 revs...

If anything I'd attempt to build it myself. For your few seconds of time some rotary...

from wikipedia:

"In Britain, in the 1960s, Rolls Royce Motor Car Division pioneered a two-stage diesel version of the Wankel engine."

So the work was done, but diesel has such high compression ratios I wonder how eccentricly that rotor would have to move to generate the compression.

Yeah. seal tech of the 60's must have been terrible in a diesel application.

Doesn't the seal tech of today still blow? I thought the Rx8 motors were using tons of oil.

Put it in a Miata Wagon with a 6 speed manual and it would be something that I'd say that I would buy on the internet right now.

Oh yeah on that front it does, I was speaking of duration. They can make seals last 100k miles now...but back then...for a diesel version....man it had to be bad.

Looks like John Deer made one too.

Natural gas Rotary engines could be a thing. Diesel...the Apex seals would shatter in no time IMO. But with all the tech we have now, it could happen someday.
